Ginny Owens took the Christian music world by storm with the release of her debut album, Without Condition. Poignant, vulnerable, poetic, and visionary, Without Condition's piano-based pop was one of the finest examples of everything that well written pop music could be, and it garnered Owens the Dove Award for New Artist of the Year in 2000. Something More turned the tables a bit sideways with its more progressive musical approach, but the pen of Owens continued to grown and shine. Her development as an artist shows no signs of slowing down with the release of her newest project, Beautiful. Long-time producer Monroe Jones (with a bit of help from Margaret Becker) is again at the helm and his deft touch nudges Owens in all the right musical directions.
Beautiful, which takes its name from the "Call Me Beautiful" track and theme, shows Owens grappling with the ability to trust God in all areas of life. Beautiful is spiritually refreshing and reassuring, and it is clear evidence that Ginny continues to strive to be a true artist, progressing musically as well as remaining upfront and thoughtful in her songwriting.
